My First Try on Indexer - First Failure

After installation of my Indexer, I was a big trouble making some toolpath in Artcam... I studied a lot almost all the threads on Artcam Forum but i was lost in all that readings.. I decided to try on my indexer to get some hands-on experience... I modelled egg type of thing in 3D studiomax and imported it into Artcam..Here i unwrapped it and projected some grapes onto it...Thanks God so far so good.. Now i generated toolpath in Artcam and after various tries i was able to make some Gcodes... I let the Gcode in NCPLOT for simulation and my eyes found it good ( But later i found that my Gcode is not correct).. I installed the 3" round mango wood to the indexer chuck and centered and aligned it... Then i ran the gcode in the air to check the behavior of my Z-axis..I zeroed the Z-axis tool on top of the workpiece and then ran the code.. My Z-axis retract 3mm and then plunge into the workpiece start cutting... After an hour, I found the problem in my rough cut and stopped the machine.. If machine was not stopped the cutter cut the whole model at the end and workpiece fallen... I removed the work piece incomplete.. I was happy that some how i managed to cut the part on my indexer.. I made this semi-finished model into a show piece stand, that later sold in Funfair for about 15 US dollars.. I studied more about the functionality and draw back of my procedure and my next project will show that how much i succeeded in my efforts....
